There are less than 24 hours left until the Nintendo 3DS XL Contest ends, and I have to say, I’m amazed with the response I’ve received regarding this contest. At the moment, I currently have 87 people signed up for the contest, but it’s not too late to get your entry in. For all the rules and to sign up, you can click the links in this post or go to the Contests page and access the Nintendo 3DS XL Contest page from there.

Speaking of which, during the down period of the Website, I modified the Contests page to where you can see a list of all of the past, present, and future contests and moved the Nintendo 3DS XL Contest page into it’s own Web page. That way, it’ll make it easier on me to modify the Contests page in the future, and it will make it much more convenient for my Website’s scheduling system to automatically disable the Nintendo 3DS XL Contest page after the time elapses. Also, it should help prevent some links from breaking across the Website so I don’t have to manually edit those at a later date.

Anyway, for those that want to participate in the Nintendo 3DS XL Contest, you only have until 11:59 PM CST today to enter the contest. The actual drawing via random number generator will take place on YouTube either via a live stream of a video that I’ll make after the contest ends, and once the winner has been drawn, the winner will be E-Mailed and will have a week from the drawing to accept the prize and confirm that the mailing address is correct. If the winner does not accept their prize via E-Mail in that time period, another winner will be drawn.

Once again, thank you all so much for making my first contest be such a success. 🙂

Contests: Nintendo 3DS XL Contest

For those that are wanting to enter the Nintendo 3DS XL Contest and haven’t entered yet, you only have until 11:59 PM CST on February 5, 2014 to enter. This Destroyer X Productions Quickie talks about my purchase of the Nintendo 3DS XL and remind people that you’re running out of time. I’m still working out the details on how I will broadcast the actual drawing via random number generator, but I have some ideas as far as what I’ll accomplish this. Very likely, I’ll either do a live stream on YouTube or I’ll do a post-production recording. Either way, I’m probably going to use either Open Broadcaster Software to stream on YouTube (I need to to a test stream before long) or do a recording using ManyCam.

Anyway, enter the contest if you haven’t done so already!

It’s been a long time coming, but I finally wrapped up Let’s Play Super Mario Bros. with Part 2 of the Let’s Play. In this final part, I talk about random things while occasionally talking about the game.

After all, it’s hard to talk about a game that many people have played and many people know the ins and outs regarding gameplay, secrets, etc.

August 27, 2013 - 068

This will be the last update to the Website for this morning since I need to get some sleep for work later today.

I went ahead and uploaded the pictures I took of the Tax Reform Town Hall back on August 27, 2013. For those who aren’t aware, one of the special guests in attendance was Neal Boortz – retired Libertarian radio talk show host and commentator for WSB and national syndication.

I finally managed to upload the pictures from the Assimilation: 9th Annual Halloween Ball. In all honesty, I was going to upload the pictures from the Tax Reform Town Hall before this set, but I accidentally started on the pictures from Assimilation.

Oh well! No use crying over spilled milk 😛

Anyway, I hope everyone enjoys the pictures. The next picture uploads will be the Tax Reform Town Hall, but I’m not sure when I’ll get those uploaded. Either way, just keep checking back, and I’ll get them uploaded sooner or later.

Since it’s been several days since the first poll ended, I went ahead and started a new poll. This poll won’t last as long as the first poll though (this one will end at 11:59 P.M. on February 9, 2014), but it would be interesting to find out “Which is your favorite portable Nintendo gaming console?”

Hopefully, this will be the last time I modify the contest form for the Nintendo 3DS XL Contest. Fortunately, I manage to do the modifications when there isn’t any traffic to the contest page.

For the Date of Birth field, I went ahead and created a drop-down list for the year and made it clear that the first field is for the month, the second field is for the day, and the last field is for the year.

With that done, I don’t anticipate revisiting the form until after the page automatically shuts down on February 5, 2013 at 11:59 P.M. CST.

For those that are curious, there are currently 33 entries for the contest. I would love for there to be more entries than that, so make sure you tell people about the contest.

One of the people that was going to enter the Nintendo 3DS XL Contest noticed an error on my contest form regarding the Date of Birth field, and I was able to determine that it wasn’t working properly in Internet Explorer, Apple Safari, and Mozilla Firefox. I went ahead and modified the Date of Birth fields to where you have to select your month of birth and your day of birth in the appropriate down-down boxes. As far as the year of birth, you will have to type that in manually, but fortunately, that shouldn’t be a big inconvenience.

My apologies to those that were inconvenienced by the error regarding the Date of Birth field on the contest form.

Although this won’t affect those that have already entered on the Website (I already know that the four people that have entered so far are 13 years old or older because they’re adult friends of mine), I went ahead and added a Date of Birth field to the Nintendo 3DS XL Contest page. The Date of Birth field is a required field, and if you don’t fill it out, the form validator will prevent you from submitting the entry.

I apologize about the last minute change, but since I really don’t want to take any chances regarding COPPA, I have to make sure all of my ducks are in a row with the contest.

Once again, for my four friends that have already entered the contest, I already know that you’re over the ages of 13, so you all are fine.
